Our core philosophy: Your health data belongs exclusively on your own phone. We don't sell, broker, or monetize your blood glucose records.

Notice for Beta Testing: These terms are structured transparently for open beta development. Formal regulatory and legal counsel review will be finalized prior to full public app store distribution.

1. Privacy Policy & Local Data Storage

Ahead is engineered around a local-first architectural model. Real-time Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmissions between your Dexcom G7 sensor and the Ahead Android app are processed and stored directly on your physical device and within Android Health Connect.

No Centralized Telemetry: Ahead does not transmit continuous raw CGM streams to third-party ad networks or analytics brokers.
Health Connect Access: Permissions granted to Ahead are used exclusively to read and write your blood glucose records for real-time alerting and display.
Opt-In Remote Alerts: If you configure SMS emergency alerts, only the timestamped alert event and necessary emergency contact data are processed to dispatch the notification.

2. Terms of Service & Medical Disclaimer

Ahead is a companion monitoring and research application. It is NOT an FDA-cleared primary medical device or an automated insulin dosing (AID) controller.

Ahead does not replace your primary Continuous Glucose Monitor's factory alarms or receiver hardware.
Do not make critical insulin dosing decisions based solely on experimental projections without confirming your blood glucose via a blood glucose fingerstick meter.
You assume full personal responsibility for the management of your diabetes care and treatment regimen.

3. Open Source & Intellectual Property

Ahead is developed independently by Ryan Singer under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3). You are free to inspect, audit, and build the source code for your own personal use.
